Barnsley Hospital required an upgrade of its two groups of 5 passenger lift units which had been operating for 15 years without any significant investment. As a working hospital, Classic had to ensure there was minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.

Solutions

The modernisation project included the replacement of major components including main machines, controller system and all landing entrances. It also required bespoke hospital operation features, new hygienic finishes and quality components to enhance reliable operation. Classic executed all this without disruption to the hospital operations and against the backdrop of the COVID pandemic.
