We are seeking a highly capable Security Contracts Manager to sssist the Utilities Project Manager(s) in the on-time and budget delivery of projects.Candidates will be expected to attend pre-start meetings and liaise with the clients direct and on a face-to-face basis. Support with managing subcontractor and internal engineering resource on site.
To oversee, validate, commission and occasionally carry out installation activities of security systems including Intruder Alarms, IP CCTV, Access Control & Intercom systems.
The role and associated activities will largely be within the Utilities team in the Southern area; however, there may be a requirement from time to time to support the business in other areas.
Key Responsibilities
- · To oversee, commission and occasionally carry out the installation, repair & maintenance of Security & Fire systems and equipment for key clients.
- Attend client and site meetings with sub and third-party contractors.
- Ensure on time and budget delivery with any issues being fed back to the Project Manager(s)/Line Manager.
- Drive cost saving through a pragmatic approach to Project Engineering.
- Provide installation, testing, preventative maintenance, and repair to various systems that are worked on in accordance with company and British Standard requirements.
- Travel between sites on a scheduled basis and provide and maintain regular reporting of results relating to
commissioning, and post installation inspections, working to a high standard and in accordance with the relevant British Standards and expectations of the company and clients.
- Bring any critical security issues to the attention of management.
- Ensure health and safety protocol is always adhered to by all company representatives.
- Identify improvement initiatives as assigned and bring to the attention of senior management.
- Provide and maintain regular reporting of results relating to commissioning and post installation
inspections.
- Provide technical support for colleagues and prepare reports/information for management as and when requested.
- You will also be expected to perform any other duties that match your skill set as requested by company senior management and or Directors.
- Mentor apprentices and provide support for colleagues.
- Be responsible for the management and security of own equipment stock in an efficient and economical manner by determining stock levels in relation to work activities and ordering stock items as and when appropriate.
- Attend training sessions as required and identify and communicate with Line Manager any personal training or development needs.
- Carry out both technical and health & safety audits on subcontractors and in-house engineers.
About You
- You will have at least 5 years’ experience of working within the security sector.
- Ability to react to changing priorities.
- You will have a Full UK driving License.
- Excellent technical knowledge of Security Systems.
- Experience in installing, servicing and commissioning Galaxy and Texecom IDS systems.
- Experience in both installing, servicing and commissioning Avigilon, Hanwha, Axis and Hikvision CCTV systems/devices.
- Have a systematic/logical approach to tasks & problems.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out quickly & efficiently.
- Be presentable in person and in vehicle and tools.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Be aware of and responsible for the equipment required to complete the necessary works including emergency van stock.
